Shuzzr Writes An Open Letter To Grammy Award Winner Fantasia @Shuzzr

I, Shuzzr have been a fan of Fantasia since she was a contestant on American Idol. I’ve enjoyed her successes and even shared her pain and losses over the years. But it’s the release of her new single ‘Lose To Win’  from her studio album ‘Side Effects of You’ that compelled me to write an open letter to the artiste.

The single ‘Lose to Win’ which she declares is her testimony, is also mine as I’ve been able to relate with it on so many levels and through it found peace

After she won the third season of American Idol in 2004, Fantasia  Barrino was on a path of greatness. With the release of several hit records, a memoir and even starred in a Lifetime movie about her own life she ventured onto Broadway, basking and enjoying all aspects of the arts.

An inspiration to many she was put on a pedestal, but a succession of personal tragedies put her in the headlines across mainstream media and they dug into her life leaving nothing scared. Involved with a married man, threats of  lawsuits, court appearances, public humiliation and pressure tore the artiste to shreds. Overwhelmed, Fantasia overdosed on sleeping pills and aspirins in August of 2010. A suicide attempt of a star that rocked the w

orld.

But like a Phoenix from its ashes she has risen. Fantasia lead single ‘Lose To Win’  conveys that star or idol, just like each of us, she is human.

Barrino returned to the “Idol” stage last Thursday to deliver a chilling performance of “Lose to Win” and is gearing up for a promo campaign for the album.

“I’m in a happy place. I’ve found peace. I’m back to that Fantasia that first walked onstage,” she said. “I can tell you now that my smile is genuine — and it’s not just pretend.”

Here is my open letter to Fantasia, I needed to thank her for singing the words of my soul!

Shuzzr

Dear Fantasia,

Sometime we search for the reasons to love or to continue loving in the present, while it’s already written in our past.

It’s our history of differences, it’s imperfections, it’s scars that holds the reasons that should propels us to transcend our bond.

We at times call it quit on love, which in essence is life, but it’s those reasons we should use to move beyond where the broken bends and learn to love and live again.

It’s the ugliness that we hide in us thats holds the real truth that we should share as we seek to understand what we had, have and will continue to enjoy.

At times people forget that we are humans built not to perfection, and lose sight of the simple stuff. If we appreciate not just the lost but the pain, its a lost already won.

Life’s simplicity (Trees, Sun, Moon etc) is the jewels that hold the worth of world in balance, the real economist or actuarialist.

The age of our love doesn’t mean a lifetime of happiness but rather a life time of understanding and selflessness.

As I listen to your  single ‘Lose To Win’ testimony, I am convinced that ”the pursuit of perfection isn’t about being perfect rather the inner strength we develop on the quest.” – Shuzzr
