Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Rickardo Shuzzr, more popularly known as Shuzzr, got into media relations in late 2009 or early 2010. Handling crisis communications and media relations for members of the musical group Portmore Empire, who existed for various reasons, his strategy and counsel were unmatched.

While his skills developed and influence grew, he expanded his reach by partnering with another boutique agency in the U.S., strengthening his foothold. This strategic partnership led to the team working with Grammy-winning artiste Morgan Heritage, Multimedia personality Nikkiz Z, Digital distributors Hapilos, and many others.

With the notoriety, our services expanded to covering several highly acclaimed events in Jamaica like Reggae Sumfest, New Rules Festival, Marco Polo, ATI, Dream Weekend, Shaggy & Friends Concerts, Style Week, Caribbean Fashion Week, Arthur Guinness Celebrations, Rumbar Bubbles and more.

Our corporate client’s roster has included Sharkie’s Seafood and Plantation Smokehouse restaurant, which has become a favorite eatery for international talents. From the likes of Grammy-award-winning Kany West, Meek Mills, Drake, and many more, the famous North Coast bistro continues to cop awards and recognition.

A public relations architect behind the image of some of your favorite reggae-dancehall artiste in recent history. Over the past decade, he has worked with several of Jamaica’s top reggae and dancehall acts, namely Alkaline, Tifa, RDX, Vershon, Dovey Magnum, Narkoz, DJ MadOut, DJ TYGGA, Chozenn, Blak Ryno, Lisa Hyper, Erup, Versatile amongst many others.

A consultant to many of the rising stars in reggae and dancehall music over the past decade, Shuzzr is a graduate of The College at Brockport, State University of New York (SUNY), where he holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Gender Studies and a Master of Arts in Corporate Communications from Baruch College at City University of New York (CUNY).

Shuzzr, who also joined the New York National Guard in January 2021, has served the state by assisting with its response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. He served his country in the Middle East for approximately one year, from 2022-2023. Deploying with the 369th Sustainment Brigade, supporting CENTCOM Theatre of Operations operations, he provided Human Resource Support for the Brigade operations, which had direct oversight of approximately 3000 service members, a total of five battalions under its command.

Specialist (SPC) Shuzzr, who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant (SGT) during his service overseas, promotion speaks volumes about his work ethic and dedication. Since returning home to New York, SGT Shuzzr has been assisting with the state’s responses to the influx of migrants.

Throughout his military service spanning 2022, Shuzzr has been working on his Master of Arts in Corporate Communication at Baruch College. With his anticipated graduation date scheduled for May 2024, the young communication professional continues to serve and provide communication consultancy with his company, Shuzzr LLC.

With the issuance of dozens of press releases and securing several notable media placements over the years in Billboard Magazine, Jamaica STAR, Jamaica Gleaner, and many others. Shuzzr’s reach & influence are undisputed as one of the leading publicists covering reggae-dancehall music and its practitioners. Shuzzr, a public relations guru, continues to represent heavy industry heavyweights.
