BROOKLYN, NY (Shuzzr): On May 13TH, 2019, the promoters and organizers of Reggae Sumfest, the largest music festival of its kind in The Caribbean announced the nominees for its 2019 Get Social Awards.
The Get Social Awards which was added to this year’s line up of events for Reggae Sumfest is slated to be held on June 29, 2019 in Kingston Jamaica and hosted by producer Skatta Burrell and media personality Miss Kitty.
Dancehall reggae artist Tifa & Dovey Magnum received nominations for Female Dancehall Artist and Breakthrough Female Artist of the year respectively. While reggae-dancehall duo, RDX, was also nominated for Dance Song of the Year.
The event according to Reggae Sumfest “intends to pay tribute to the best of Jamaican / Caribbean social media by recognizing influencers, companies and organizations on Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram”. It further adds “We recognize that one post, share, like on social media can shape how we view things, what we eat, where we go and what we say. We have seen stars emerge, songs take flight and social change take place”.
